The Norseman was built in 1973 as a crabber/tender for the Bering Sea. The vessel sank in Queen Charlotte Sound British Columbia and was salvaged by divers in 1978 using old railroad tank cars to lift the vessel from over 400 feet deep. The Norseman was then towed to Seattle for repairs and eventually returned to fishing. In 2005 she was converted into a research vessel for Norseman Maritime shown in the picture. Read more here.
