Diomede is a village located on the west coast of Little Diomede Island in the strait between the Bering Sea and the Chukchi Sea. Little Diomede is the smaller of the two Diomede Islands, its neighboring island, Big Diomede is in Russia and across the International Dateline less than 2.4 miles (3.9 km) away. Big Diomede is uninhabited except for a military installation and the village of Diomede is the only settlement on Little Diomede Island. The population in 2010 was 115.
